Sentence hearings started against the five Cubans in jail at Miami

Havana, December 10 (AIN) Moral, principles and ethics of the five detained since three years in a Federal Court of Miami, prevailed during the start of the trial being followed as part of the tricky and deceiving trial.

The Informative Round Table showed that in this shameful process by its political and discriminating character, lacks argument to discuss the Cuban patriots´s integrity, who tried to foil organized terrorism in that Florida city against Cuba.

Sentence hearings started on Monday , one with a general character, Gerardo Hernández will be the first to appear, on the 12^th Ramon Labaniño , on the 13th René Gonzalez, the 17th Fernando Gonzalez and on the 27th, Antonio Guerrero.

Rodolfo Davalos , Professor of the Law Faculty at the University of Havana, said that the hearing crimes were charged , according to what the reform law establishes at USA, and once more the Sixth Amendment was violated, because the jury is not impartial.

Randy Alonso , moderator, gave knowledge to several letters, but specially one Rene sent to Elizabeth: "We are O.K. , every day we heal from astonishment" in a wide solidarity with that the new denial of the State Department to grant the visa.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a new communication to the Interest Section of Washington in Havana, whose interim chief ratified the decision of denying the visa to Ramón Labañino´s wife.

Also it was denied to the Cuban legal adviser, who has been together to the relatives and to the officer of the chancellery, the former vice consul of Cuba in Washington during the battle for the return of Elian Gonzalez.

Elizabeth Palmeiro , Ramón´s wife, was only allowed to travel on December 14, two days after the programmed hearing for her spouse.

This action of the present administration of USA goes beyond the political difference with Cuba and it turns into another event of vengeance.

At the Round Table , new details were given of the manipulations of Lino Gutierrez, sub secretary of State ad interim of USA for Latin America and faithful ally of the terrorist Cuban American mafia.

Reference was made to a letter dated August 13th last where Gerardo would send the judge who should do justice, and where he states that Cuba has the right to defense from terrorist acts.

From Miami, where he traveled with other mothers to attend the hearings , Mirtha, Antonio´s mother , said he found his beloved son and during the emotive phone contact with the Round Table , read a poem of Antonio dedicated to his mates.

Dagoberto Rodríguez, Chief of the Interest Section of Cuba in Washington, explained the hearing was technical and was longed until 5:30 in the afternoon.

The five Cubans , added, arrived at 3.0ñ clock in the room there were 40 persons and the press was very visible. He reiterated that Fernando´s lawyer talked about his rights which were constantly violated during his confinement.

Afterwards the rest of the defense called the Prosecutor to present evidence but this was impossible.
