The unforgettable Genovese young man

Fabio di Celmo would have been 37 years this summer, if on September 4, 1977, there would not be a victim of a terrorist action in Havana. Cubans remember it for ever. The presence of his father, Giustino , is known in the island.

A beautiful day was seen from the Copacabana coast hotel , located in Havana, where guests enjoyed the natural privilege of the Caribbean sea. It was inconceivable that the place could turn within moments in a crime scenario with innocent victims. That is how terrorism is, it is silenced, blind, cruel and barbarian.

That is how it works everywhere, without distinctions, because it causes panic, death, desperation and pain to human beings.

One of the rooms of the tourist facility have been hired by Giustino di Celmo, an Italian business man, a friend of Cuba, he was going to be lodged together with his son , a handsome Genovese of 32 years.

They both made constant visits to Cuba, and they were dealing with trade activities and promoted tourism to Cuba without any reward. On September 4, 1997, the same month of that wild attempt the Twin Towers of New York were attacked.

At 9.00 A.M. of that same day, Giustino and his son had programmed a business meeting in Old Havana and so they did , but they were going to arrive late and returned to the hotel.

Then Fabio talked with a couple of Italians whom he knew since childhood, Enrico and Francesca, who were enjoying their honey moon in Cuba, place suggested by Fabio himself.

At noon the young man went out of his room and went to the lobby- bar to meet with friends and pick a lunch farewell place, since the couple was coming back that same day to Italy, afterwards Giustino listened to an explosion that would painfully change his life.

For ridicule quantities of money , the Salvadoran mercenary Raúl Ernesto Cruz León was willing to destroy and murder, obeying instructions of the terrorist organization , Cuban American National Foundation (FNCA) , located in Miami and

Conveniently sanctified by the North American governments in their anti Cuban obsession together with their outstanding greatest terrorist, Luis Posada Carriles .

At 10:30 A.M. in the morning, Cruz León got the lobby bar of the "Copacabana" where he asks for a Bucanero beer , trying to be a tourist while he was carefully watching the place.

Then he enrooted himself to the bathroom and activated one of the bombs he was carrying already programmed with a lapse of 45 minutes to blow and quietly returned to the bar, places the explosive device in a metal standing ashtray, at the right corner of the bar and finishes his beer. Afterwards he would follow a terrorist action schedule that same day, September 4 at the Chateau Miramar and Tritón hotels and the Bodeguita del Medio restaurant, until the evening hours when he was arrested by the authorities which were backed up by the population.

The deadly load blew first at the Copacabana that caused serious damages to the facility and one of the pieces cut the young Fabio , the carotid vein and other cervical structures . In the middle of the chaos , he received help from the workers of the hotel, but he arrived dead to the hospital. The body showed the deadly cut caused by a metal injury.

The greatest terrorist is not being bothered by the CIA or the FBI .

The enthusiastic Italian young man who liked to practice foot ball and help anybody, stopped being alive due to an evil counter revolutionary plan thought in Miami and leaded by Posada Carriles, who declared to the journal New York Times, on July 12 1998 his participation in the organization of the terrorist actions to the hotels and restaurants of Havana with the financial support of the CANF, with its President already deceased , Jorge Mas Canosa , who was a permanent guest of Reagan, Bush and Clinton at the White House.

Posada Carriles´s conditions for his interview to the New York Times , was no photos or location of the place of the interview , these are the main hints of a mob leader. His declarations to the Times were that "this young man was in the wrong place at the wrong hour ."

He also ascertained to have no remorse , he declared: "I sleep like a baby" "It is sad someone has died , but we can not stop " he said and qualified the bomb blowing in Havana as "war acts" to deprive Cuba from tourism and foreign investments.

"As you can see , I am not bothered by the CIA or the FBI, and I keep myself neutral with them. Every time I can help them, I do " he declared , he who was a CIA agent , jailed in Venezuela ( escaped afterwards) due to the monstrous attempt to a commercial plane in Barbados, in which 73 persons perished. Posada was also an active member in the Iran- Contras issue and an organizer of the attempt plans against president Fidel Castro.

The widely known terrorist has declared : "The CIA had taught me everything, about explosives, murders, bombs and sabotages.."

Posada Carriles is located at a Panama prison where he planned another attempt against the Cuban leader at the University of that country. It would have been a massacre there if it were not be frustrated due to the on time announcement made by Fidel. At Panama , Posada Carriles pretends to escape being helped by his friends of Miami whose influence determine the policy road at Washington towards Cuba.

If a warning would have been noticed on time

After listening to the blowing at the hotel where Giustino di Celmo received a call from the desk and was informed about what had happened to his son, Fabio. He immediately rushed to the Cira García hospital and knew the shocking news : Fabio had died. The two young men who were with him were also being taken care by the doctors although they had no apparent damages.

Giustino fell apart. He could not believe in such an absurd death. "My son who was still in his mother´s belly / and I cried of happiness / you were a boy and due to his fevers/ and your falls, I cried/ you were a young man and for fear/ and anguish / and anguish to decision/ of your life I cried/

When the murdering bomb / took your life away/ I don´t have any more tears to cry, he would write.

The leaders and financiers of this evil attempt at the Havana hotels are identified and live in an American city which is called Miami, these men are still unpunished and protected. I claim for justice, the old man has asked for who has turned himself in a restless struggler for peace and solidarity and against terrorism.

Against the Cuban American mob terrorism , the five Cuban heroes were struggling :René Gonzalez, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernández and Fernando González . About them, Giustino has expressed if they would have been able to warn us on time I would have taken the necessary measures for Fabio not to sit in the lobby of this hotel. These five prisoners have to be declared innocent at the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of the United States of America, because they were serving their Cuban people and the North American, saving lives.

The five young men jailed in USA were gathering information from terrorist groups located in Florida to prevent acts of this kind and avoid death. The same groups that once have caused pain to the Cuban people and to Giustino.

It has been five years since Fabio lost his life, to whom Cuba gives homage, as many victims of terrorism against the island , prepared from the USA, that same country that suffered in flesh and blood the horror of the September 11 attempts. President Bush shares impressions in public with terrorists of the Cuban American mob of Miami.
