Fidel reiterates in a Round Table , innocence of the courageous young men

 We reaffirm and are willing to prove they are political prisoners, prisoners of the empire. 

Havana, June 23 (AIN) the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro ratified today the innocence of the five patriots unfairly jailed in Miami, who have placed their lives in danger not only to protect their people but also to save other people's lives, even North Americans. 

In a special Round Table, Fidel concluded the speech already started this morning at the Open Tribune of the Revolution , at the Cotorro municipality, in a combative rally of more than 60 thousands people from Havana. 

Fidel indicated that he keeps these points of view, with solid arguments, because these comrades have not committed any crime.

He specially recalled, how information the island supplied to Washington, coming from the patriots at Florida city during the previous days of Elian González´s  rescue in Miami, contributed to avoid tragedies.

He added this communication warned how terrorists who supported the kidnapping were planning to shoot to the police men´s legs and to the TV cameras , to stop the North American authorities to take the minor out of the relatives´s  house.

After emphasizing that the five patriots arrested have not done any violent act, he reaffirmed : here we state, sustain and are willing to prove they are political prisoners of the empire, he reaffirmed.

He stated that USA has never recognized to have political prisoners and however, it is a term they are trying to apply it to the counter revolutionaries sanctioned in Cuba.

He added that to the Puerto Ricans, struggling for their  country's independence, have never been considered as political prisoners, and only they have committed the crime to love their homeland, their culture and to look for the ruling of  their own destinies, that is what they have fought for.

The revolutionary leader defended the right of the Cuban people to send patriots to  USA, where war has been done against the island during 42 years, and added that for those terror actions, thousands of Cubans have died or have been left disabled.

He said that in the world there are many who dislike these actions and " are able of run the dangerous risk for our country without being born in Cuba", he remarked.

He continued saying these persons are more than revolutionary and patriots, because they have the dignity and honor of supporting this nation against crimes, threats and blockades of all kinds.

In another part of his speech, the Commander in Chief expressed that thanks to the Cuban patriots, the way Mafia thinks , the present thinking of the Administration is known ,with respect to the Cuban revolution, with which they are completely wrong.

He explained that the Mafia has become arrogant with George Bush's government methods, and a proof of that is the terrorist act they planned from Miami to be done in Tropicana, denounced this week by Cuba.

He referred to other examples that show this hostile attitude and quoted pressures exerted to avoid extradition of the wide known international terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, and to the peoples who visit him at jail.

Fidel ascertained that analyzing all what has happened and campaigns launched against Cuba during last months, have reaffirmed his most absolute certainty distrust is still not enough .

The empire does not consider genocide to kill a people because of a blockade or launching the atomic bomb over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and only they take into account as a crime to murder someone, he manifested.

The Cuban President, commented that it is odd the invention of a cyber war of the island against USA and the supposed purchasing of weapons to China, coinciding  with enough accuracy, with the jury's verdict declaring the five patriots, guilty.

At the end of his speech, Fidel thanked those who worried for his health state, after his indisposition he faced during his speech at the Open Tribune this morning.

About the Miami Mafia, he ironically said he regretted , they could not drink all rum or whisky bottles, or may be they had some.

Also he sent a message to the five Cubans arrested in Miami, who certainly were following the details of the act by radio, and that surely had to be worried, he said.

Likewise, he recommended to those heroic patriots, to take advantage of time in jail to develop their extraordinary qualities.
