Fidel reiterates the five Cubans will return

Havana, December 29 ( AIN) President Fidel Castro emphasized that the five Cubans , unfairly sentenced at Miami, will return to their homeland.

"I repeat, reiterate and emphasize : they will come back" the Cuban President corroborated , during his speech in which he proposed to name the coming year , 2 002 as the "Year of the Heroes , Prisoners of the Empire" unanimously approved by the 522 deputes present at the Parliament's extraordinary session, being carried out in this capital.

In his wide reflection, the Commander in Chief referred himself to the many revolutionaries who have experienced prison , from the ones who assaulted "Moncada" until the most recent ones , but he outlined the great condition differences of the ones jailed at Miami: René González, Gerardo Hernández, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino and Antonio Guerrero.

He mentioned the difficult circumstances of the process in which the five patriots have lived , due to the characteristics of the mission they accomplished.

Also the Commander in Chief , pointed out how these young men, capable and intelligent, together to a group of office lawyers with absolute professionalism were stimulated to cooperate in the defense , throughout the process.

The extraordinary thing is , they vanished all tricks , al lies , all inventions the Mafia had organized with the support of that country´s authorities Fidel said.

Furthermore. Fidel denounced the way they were tried to link René, Gerardo , Ramón and Antonio in the planes´s withdrawal incident , dated February 24, 1996, which they had nothing to do with. He continued adding that at the right moment , this issue will be used in their defense.

He affirmed , there are a lot of available resources, in this struggle , two ways: the legal and the political one , this last one with favorable winds , since now they are accompanied for a whole people and a growing public opinion, even inside USA.

The first Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba explained that the political battle for the freedom of those patriots, starts now , and that there is nothing more wonderful than to face this effort with the truth in our hands.

He reiterated that each time , the political and moral price will be higher, for every day, hour or second of injustice been kept.

He indicated that from September 11 , the North American people has taken conscious of how monstrous , terrorism can be.

Another side of his words , he manifested that the Cuban people speeds the present battle for the freedom of the patriots jailed ,for the accomplishment of the Baragua´s oath against the consequences of the international economic crisis and for peace.

He also highlighted, he will continue supporting the programs being held in the educational and cultural spheres and that all forms part of the battle of ideas that the nation is carrying on with firmness, resolution and intelligence.
