Kenia Serrano: Movement of
Solidarity with the Cuban Five, Increases
CIEGO
DE AVILA, Cuba, May 8 (acn) The movement of solidarity with the five Cuban
antiterrorists condemned in the United States grows in the world every year,
asserted on Monday in this city Kenia Serrano, president of the Cuban Institute
for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP).
During a meeting in Ciego de Avila in favor of Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio
Guerrero, Ramon Labañino, Rene Gonzalez and Fernando Gonzalez, Serrano
explained that information about the cause of these fighters spread
internationally in 2012, since support for their cause has gradually
strengthened in 111 nations, adding that until they’re not back home with
their relatives we should be dissatisfied and there will be no time for rest.
Standing out among movements is “Cuba no esta sola” (Cuba is not alone)
and its activities on the streets of Madrid, which opposed the evident
hostile policy of that country’s right-wing government towards the
Revolution, she pointed out.
Serrano explained that the campaign “Five Days for the Five” held in
Washington in April was a triumph, and added that meeting in that city were
activists of several states of the US, as well as persons from other nations,
like Italy, Belgium, France, Germany, Canada and Honduras, among others.
She also recalled that some 300 friends demanded justice for The Five in
front of the White House, and many activities were carried out in over 20
countries, as a demonstration of the maturity of this call to global
solidarity.
